In an incredibly-competitive and crowded market segment, staying aware of market trends is critical as retailers look to differentiate and individualise their offering. It is against this background that the successful Bog Standard, a boutique Irish company that has been making stylish, fragrant products for just on 10 years, has undergone a major re-brand to Field Day.
“We have always led the market with a unique range of fragranced candles, scented soaps, home fragrance products and hand care ranges”, says Alix Mulholland, Director, Field Day. “We have done so by being dynamic and innovative and so, as we approached our 15th birthday, we decided to re-energise our product ranges and image with a major re-brand from Bog Standard to Field Day.
“In doing so we have created an affordable and unique collection of candles and home fragrance that is commercially appealing, beautifully designed, hand-made in Ireland, and presented in eye-catching packaging. However, in doing so the fundamentals behind our success to date have not been abandoned, but rather reinforced. For instance, we use a fragrance content of 9% in our fine candles which are double poured by hand by our artisan candle maker.”
The candles are also infused with the fragrance, meaning they release the same lovely scent down to the last inch.
“Our soaps, made from natural oils and glycerine, are triple milled and wrapped by hand. As for our diffusers, they are made with 30% fragrance using white fibre reeds to cast beautiful scent with lasting effect.
“We’re very excited by the re-brand and new ranges, and early indications are that the development has caught the imagination of retailers, and excited them. Come see for yourself at the Autumn Gift & Home Fair.”
